Songwriting is a form of expression. A deeply personal, yet at the same time evocative, expression that has the power to touch the heart of the listener.

The Encounter is calling on all up-and-coming singer-songwriters to send in one track to participate in the “A Singing Heart” event to be held on February 17, 2024, at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City.

A panel of judges made up of musicians and composers will select the 10 Best Songs, focusing on melody and lyrics (not production). Ten singer-songwriters will be invited to New York City to perform live (with guitar or piano, and a maximum of one additional musician). The winner will be awarded a cash prize of $1,000, the second $500, the third $250.

Submit one unique track in mp3 format, together with song lyrics and a short presentation letter by January 15, 2024.
