Tom Tobin has been a High School teacher in Maryland for 34 years.  He taught for 12 years in the public school system before joining the adventure of The Avalon School, a start-up school that recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.  He teaches English in the high school grades and also teaches a popular elective course on the history and literature of the Vietnam War.
