Gabriele Di Comite
Gabriele Di Comite is the president of Friends of Takashi and Midori Nagai, a private association which has been recognized and appointed by the diocese of Nagasaki as the Canonical Actor for the promotion of the beatification and canonization causes of the Nagai spouses. He is the author of two publications in Italian, on the life of Takashi and Midori Nagai (Announcement from Nagasaki, Itaca 2019) and on the history of Christianity in Japan (Santi, Martiri e Samurai, Fontana di Siloe, 2021). He has translated from Japanese into Italian and has curated the edition of two books by Takashi Nagai (The Pass of the Virgin and Thoughts from Nyokodō) which will soon be made available in English.
Born and raised in Italy, he is an immunologist who has been living and working in Tokyo, Japan, since 2019, where he leads the Immunology and Dermatology Medical Department of Novartis Pharma. After his MD degree and his PhD in Immunology, he worked for several years as a hospital clinician and he spent 1-year as a postdoc researcher in Tokyo, Japan, in 2010-2011. He afterward started his career in the Pharma business which led him to live and work for five years in Basel, Switzerland, until 2019.
