Fiammetta Cappellini
Italian by origin, Haitian by adoption, she has lived and worked in Haiti since 2006 as a humanitarian worker. She first dealt with child protection and community development, starting the interventions of the NGO AVSI in the conflictive neighborhoods of Cite Soleil and Martissant, where she worked for over 3 years. Following the 2010 earthquake, she led the humanitarian response operations, which earned AVSI the recognition of Human Rights Defender by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, for having guaranteed humanitarian access to the popular neighborhoods. Since 2017, she has been AVSI Regional Manager for the Caribbean.
