Dulce M. Cruz-Oliver
Dulce M. Cruz-Oliver has served as Assistant Professor of Palliative Care at Johns Hopkins University since 2017. Her witness of poor quality EOL-care throughout the past 12 years, especially among Latino elders and their families, motivated her to become a doctor. As a doctor, she is inspired to foster a focus on Latino caregivers. Her goal is to empower Latino family caregivers and health professionals in caring for the seriously ill by promoting innovative education and research. Dr. Cruz’s current project has allowed her to apply what she had learned previously (the making of telenovelas for Latino family caregivers) to a larger population in a clinical trial setting.
