Cormac McCarthy’s transformative novels lead readers toward the incandescent threshold of the mystery. Far from the abstract, his language is steeped in the gritty reality of matter and human action. In this performance, dramatic readings from McCarthy’s works unite with original music composed to echo the power of his prose. Together, they guide us along his protagonists’ harrowing journey, drawing us ever closer to the burning heart of existence—where the inextinguishable flame of all beginnings and endings resides.
