Beyond Left and Right
A discussion on the nature, role, and future of the U.S. Supreme Court with Stephanos Bibas, Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and Jeffrey Pojanowski, professor of law, Notre Dame University, moderated by Giuliana Carozza, lawyer and former clerk at the Supreme Court
In the last few years, and particularly now, the U.S. Supreme Court has often been an object of controversy and has not been spared accusations of being essentially a political tool. Against this background, we would like to be helped to look at it more objectively and understand better its role, nature, decision-making processes, and source of its jurisprudence. Is it possible to rekindle, to use an expression in our theme, a greater trust in this essential institution of American society? Speakers will address these questions.
