Ned Balbo
Ned Balbo’s books are Galileo's Banquet (Towson University Prize for Literature), Lives of the Sleepers (Ernest Sandeen Prize), The Trials of Edgar Poe and Other Poems (Donald Justice Prize and the Poets' Prize), Upcycling Paumanok, 3 Nights of the Perseids (Richard Wilbur Award), and The Cylburn Touch-Me-Nots (New Criterion Poetry Prize).
He received a National Endowment for the Arts translation fellowship for his version of Paul Valéry's “La Jeune Parque,” and was a co-winner of the Willis Barnstone Translation Prize. Other awards include four Maryland Arts Council poetry grants, the Robert Frost Foundation Poetry Award, the John Guyon Literary Nonfiction Prize, and the New York Encounter poetry prize.
